Description
Entrance to the beautiful Marblehead Lighthouse State Park. A charming white picket fence surrounds the Lighthouse Keeper’s House while pink tinged clouds and Lake Erie form a dramatic backdrop for the red and white light house on a beautiful autumn day.
It is the oldest Great Lakes lighthouse in continuous operation since the 1820s. The sign at the state park entrance says 1823, the official website, 1822. Either way, it's nearly 100 years old!
This was my favorite of the Great Lakes lighthouses I visited along Lake Erie in Ohio. The state park was a great place to while away the hours, picnic, take photographs and relax so you can find many photographs of the Marblehead lighthouse in my Ohio and Lighthouses Collections taken at different times of day
