Description
Highland Light, formerly Cape Cod Light, located on one of the wonderful beaches along the Cape Cod National Seashore in North Truro, Massachusetts, USA.
It is also known as Highland Light Station and Highland Lighthouse. Built in 185, it is the oldest lighthouse on Cape Cod, listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Highland Light Station.
it is an active aid to navigation operated by The United States Coast Guard.
Lighthouses are one of my favorite subjects to photograph,and Cape Cod is one of my favorite places to visit, for its natural beauty and wonderful seashore.
Taken on Labor day weekend on the cusp of summer and fall, one of the best times of the year to visit the Cape IMHO. You can see the autumn color in the grass surrounding the lighthouse.
