Artist's Description
Spring photograph with white pear tree blossoms and a vintage grunge texture. This is a combination of three of my photographs. The first is a texture I designed using photos of peeling painted walls taken the same summer but worlds apart, one in Estonia and one in Pennsylvania, which I then combined and recombined, playing with my digital arsenal until I got the texture and colors just right. The primary photo is of a pear tree blossom taken in my backyard, which I combined with the textured background, some filters, and some hand drawing (using my Bamboo Digital Tablet). The tree has since been pummeled by Hurricane Sandy, followed by heavy snowfall with leaves still on the tree. Although it is leaning perilously close to the ground, it is still standing and blooming again this spring. A living testament to nature's perseverance. I hope you enjoy this view of it.

I have been hooked on photography since age six when my grandmother, returning from a trip to Egypt, passed on her well-traveled Kodak Brownie camera as well as her wanderlust.
