Creamy pink flower blossom of a Jing Orange Okra Plant with beautiful red veined green leaves and pink and red stem.

Okra is best known for southern dishes such as gumbo, but the beautiful plants and lush vegetables grow throughout most of United States as far north as southern New England. I grew this plant in my New York kitchen garden in the Hudson Valley. The lovely flowers, which bloom briefly, are an added treat. The Jing Orange Okra is known for its prolific large red vegetables which you can see here growing along the stem both above and below the flower.
