A charming white picket fence surrounds the Lighthouse Keeper’s House while pink tinged clouds and Lake Erie form a dramatic backdrop for the red and white light house on a beautiful autumn day. This image has been cropped square. A horizontal view with the entrance sign is also available in my collection.
Nearly 100 years old, Marblehead is the oldest Great Lakes lighthouse in continuous operation since the 1820s. The sign at the state park entrance says 1823, the official website, 1822. Take your pick! Either way this Great Lakes light house has a birthday coming up soon.
