Colorful autumn oak leaves (Quercus sp.) and maple leaves from sugar maple trees (Acer sp.), Japanese maple trees ( Acer palmatum) and other maples (Acer sp.) as well as pine tree needles blanket a lawn in Chappaqua, Westchester County, New York, USA, North America. This photo was taken just before Hurricane Sandy hit on October 29, 2012 as heavy wind gusts began and many more leaves than usual covered the ground.

I have been hooked on photography since age six when my grandmother, returning from a trip to Egypt, passed on her well-traveled Kodak Brownie camera as well as her wanderlust. A travel, editorial and fine art photographer by profession, my images seek to shine a light on the reality around me and to evoke an emotional response.
