It rained early in our vacation so we took a drive up to Stonington CT to wander around that lovely small New England town. As night fell, the rain cleared and we were treated to a stunning sunset, with colors changing quickly from hues of pink and purple as the sun set.
From the beach you can see three states: New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island, Stonington is the only Connecticut coastal town on the Atlantic Ocean; the rest of the Connecticut coast is on Long Island Sound.
