Artist's Description
Beautiful dried Sacred Lotus pod heads, Nelumbo nucifera, in a lily pond.
The seedpod, while very different from the Sacred Lotus flower, is strikingly beautiful and makes a great addition to contemporary decor with its minimalist Zen feel.
The Sacred Lotus is special in both Buddhism and Hinduism, hence its name.
A different species than than the water lily, the two are often found together in lily ponds and rain gardens.
