Soft dreamy romantic forest of giant redwood trees (Sequoia sempervirens) Muir Woods, Mill Valley, California, USA. The Muir Woods National Monument is an old growth forest of giant redwoods, also known as coast redwoods or California redwoods. They are the tallest trees on earth.
Walking through these monumental giants is an incredible experience. I first visited them as a teenager on vacation with my family, and later brought my own husband and daughter there when she was about the same age, which is when I took this photo.
Thanks to this photograph, I was one of 20 photographers whose work was featured on Photoshelter's featured photographer's page in the fall of 2013. Photoshelter hosts the websites of 77,000 professional photographers.
