Trees and island in the backwaters, a tidal estuary in Niantic, Connecticut, silhouetted against a dramatic sky at sunset in the late spring, with blue, gold, orange, and purple reflections in the water. The backwaters have been one of my favorite spots since I was a child and first went out in my friend's canoe in those waters. I love the view at all times of the day, but at sunset it is particularly spectacular.

This one is part of Series 4 which includes sunsets taken of in this location when the sky was pink or purple.
