Beams of light stream through the forest at Rockefeller State Park Preserve in Pleasantville, New York. A little camera magic created this dramatic scene. While hiking through the woods, the late afternoon sun made for dramatic lighting on the red autumn carpet of leaves on the trail, so I used the lens flare to my advantage. Other than slightly enhancing the deep red color as I dropped the exposure to further bring out the sun rays, this fine art photograph is just as I shot it in camera.
Amazing how reality can turn to abstraction thanks to the light.
A friend commented "The kind of image that makes one believe in something bigger than oneself," and I think she is right. This kind of magical moment really makes you appreciate the beauty that God has given us.
